Learning Goal: I’m working on a communications project and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.
my project topic is SCSU HEALTH AND WELLNESS.
Here are some more tips for the Research Design:
- Be detailed. Think of this like a recipe for baking cookies. All ingredients and directions need to be described. For example, if you are using an email list: who is on the list, how many are on the list, and why did you select this list? If you are tabling, where and when? Why dates, times, locations selected?
- Note: Those looking at AIT Competitors, the reasons for auditing those competitors social media is because the client provided the list of competitors.
- Research needs to be duplicatable and not done “willy nilly.” Every choice has a justification.
- Look for opportunities to use TABLES for easier readability where it is appropriate, like in the below example:
An audit was conducted of the following six competitors and the social media platforms they used for content posted from January 1 through December 31, 2022:
Competitor | YouTube | Other | ||||
Company A | Y | N | Y | Y | Y | Y |
Company B | N | N | N | Y | N | N |
Company C | Y | N | N | Y | N | N |
Company D | Y | N | N | Y | N | N |
Company E | N | N | N | Y | N | N |
Company F | Y | N | N | N | N | N |
If you get stuck, review the articles we looked at in class or search for others (on D2L under Material/Content/Methods Resources).
You are writing a “recipe” or “step-by-step instructions” for someone to follow.
Oddly enough, the Methods section is usually the easiest part to write.
