This week we are looking at the concept of “racialization”. In Chapter 8, Halualani states that 1) “race” is socially constructed, 2) framed by structures of power, and 3) it is used to hierarchically order cultural groups over and against one another.
Please reflect on these points and identify if you see ways in which you have been “racialized” and how “racialization” has impacted your identity and/or your relationships with others. Please explain and use examples from your life.
