Assignment Overview:
Inclusive leadership plays a critical role in developing a culture of ethics and ethical behavior. The inclusive leader should have a deep level of consciousness and a deep self-awareness for understanding the link between ethics, inclusion, and social justice outcomes and for recognizing a moral duty to respond to unjust, unethical acts that harm others.
Instructions:
Include the following sections in your Position paper:
- Introductory paragraph.
- Include the purpose statement and preview the contents of the paper. You should begin all papers with the purpose statement
- Example: The purpose of this paper is to…
- Review of Literature.
- This is a comprehensive review of your chosen topic.
- Example: The facts of the “case”.
- Your review should include at least 6 news perspectives and scholarly sources (2 of these must be empirical studies).
- This review should be an integrated discussion of the literature. This means you are not discussing each article sequentially or linearly.
- For each article, fully present the author’s perspective, the purpose for writing the article, arguments, findings, implications, etc., and integrate the author’s discussion with the perspectives of the other authors.
- Ethical Frameworks.
- Apply 2 ethical frameworks learned during this course to your chosen topic.
- Discuss how the basic principles of these frameworks apply.
- Give practical examples to illustrate.
- Appropriately cite the literature.
- Ethical Perspectives.
- Based on your chosen topic, choose 3 of the following questions as relevant to your topic. Support your responses by citing references from the literature review or other additional references.
- Discuss the following: Ethical leadership is a multi-dimensional concept – distinct from other leadership styles consisting of the components ‘the moral person’, ‘the moral manager’, and a ‘positive leader-follower relationship’.
- Discuss how building a reputation as an ethical leader should be equally balanced between being a moral person and being a moral leader (or manager).
- Discuss how organizations be considered good citizens?
- Discuss what it means to consider organizations as “moral communities?”
- Discuss the significance of codes of ethics to an organization’s ethical performance?
- Discuss how the structure of an organization promotes or discourages ethical behavior.
- Discuss how organizational ethics brings together individual, organizational and societal interpretations of ethics that sometimes compete with each other.
- Discuss how followers or members of an organization can drive ethical change.
- Discuss how an ethical approach to leadership can assist in the development of an inclusive culture.
- Discuss how inclusivity can be integrated into ethics training.
- Based on your chosen topic, choose 3 of the following questions as relevant to your topic. Support your responses by citing references from the literature review or other additional references.
- Conclusion.
- Summarizes and brings closure.
- References.
- This includes the quality of writing.
- All papers should be typed in Times New Roman 12pt font, pages numbered, and double-spaced.
- Proper grammar and mechanics should be used.
- Use headings to organize your paper according to the required content.
- APA 7th edition formatting and guidelines. (Use subheadings to identify the sections being discussed). Use a heading for each bolded section.20 pts
