You are to produce a 2000 word written piece that uses published evidence to advocate for a specific set of policy recommendations relating to a policy/social problem of your choosing.
Building on the skills developed earlier in the course regarding different forms of evidence, this assignments assesses your ability to apply published evidence to a specific policy problem. It will focus in particular on your ability to identify a set of concrete policy measures to address your chosen problem and to justify your choice using the available evidence.
The report should provide:
1. A description of your chosen policy issue
2. literature / Policy Review:A review of existing published evidence related to that issue and existing policy responses to it. This review can address things like the nature and extent of of the problem, its causes and consequences, and the effectiveness or impact existing policy responses to it.
3. A set of recommendations, including a justification for these. Recommendations can be policy proposals that you have developed or (more likely) existing policy proposals that you have encountered in the published literature (including grey literature). Your justification of your policy recommendations show be directly informed by your review of the published evidence on the topic.
