midnight. Send your primary sources analysis attached to an email to [email protected] no later than the due date.
PRIMARY SOURCE: The primary source you are going to analyze
is Randolph S. Bourne, “Trans-national America” (1916). You may find it on page
759 on your textbook, Give Me Liberty. Read the section “Who is an
American? And answer the question accordingly based on the text and the primary
source.

You will be graded on your ability for written communication. Written communication is 25% of the final
grade. If you use other sources to analyze the primary source, cite the sources.
Please cite every source checked.
CRITICAL
THINKING: You
will be graded on your degree of inquiry and analysis of the text you are
assigned to read. Critical thinking constitutes 25% of your grade. What is the main point of the article and/or
what is the author trying to prove? How
is the topic handle? Is this a positive or negative view?
PERSONAL RESPONSABILITY: Incorporate your informed opinion in your
paper. You will be graded 25% of your
final grade on your ability to recognize your cultural background in relation
to the book’s topic. This is also called ethical reasoning.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: As part of your informed
opinion include an analysis of the culture in which this author and you are
operating. This is called Intercultural
Knowledge and it counts for the final 25% of the grade.
FORMAT: The primary source analysis must have a title page,
listing the paper’s title, and the student’s name, instructor’s name, the class
number, and the day(s) and times of the week the class meets. If the classes are online, say so. Number the
pages at the top right corner or centered at the bottom of the page. The title page is not numbered. Your essay must have 3 to 5 pages.
Use the regular format of your word processing software with a 12 font. The
cover page and bibliography are extra pages not to be included in your minimum
of 3 to 5 pages. Spell check and edit
your paper carefully.
BIBLIOGRAPHY: A
bibliography is required to be included as the last page of the book review. Make sure to cite the book you are reviewing
and the individual source. You must
cite all the sources used in a correct format at the end of the paper in a
different page titled Bibliography. Concentrate on getting the right
citation format for online sources.
