Please write a 300 to 350 word essay on the topic below. All papers should be written in Times New Roman Font 12, they should be double spaced, and should be written in paragraph form with an introduction, body and conclusion section. You should include at least two external sources to support your analysis and cite them using proper APA citation style.
Paper Topic- Read two or three opinion news articles, and choose one to write an analysis for. Analyze the arguments and locate the argumentative tricks in the articles. What tricks are the authors using, how and why?
To aid you in critical analysis of news articles, it will be helpful for you to pick one topic area. Since you will be writing a total of three short analysis papers from media articles throughout the term, you will want to find news articles that represent different politically leaning slants on that topic. For example; your topic might be “voting rights” and you could find three different news articles on the topic from MSNBC, CNN, and FoxNews. Each would have a varying degree of political slant from liberal, moderate, and conservative viewpoints.
You will be assessed on these criteria:
- Describe the paper topic and identify the type of media slant for the source selected
- Analysis is very clear and based on strong objective evaluative criteria (identified argumentative tricks)
- Effectively integrates at least two external sources with correct APA citations
- Paper is well written and free of spelling and grammatical errors
