Research Assignment #1: Analyze Current Financial Environment in Specific Foreign Country
Introduction and General Overview/Description of Assignment: This assignment requires students to research and then based on the research write a research paper in which they describe the current financial environment in a specific foreign country. Hence, it is a research assignment in which students will write and submit a 4 – 5 page Word document written in APA style, the topic of which is the financial environment in a specific foreign country, with the country being pre-selected by students and approved by the course instructor.Note: The 4 – 5 pages required include (1) the title page; (2) the last page of the document in which all sources used are listed; and (3), (4), and optionally (5): the 2 – 3 pages of written informational content based on the research. Hence, the informational content pages of the paper should constitute 2 – 3 pages of text.
To complete this short research assignment:
Required: Each student selects a country to research on the assigned topic, and notifies Professor Parr of the country selected by Canvas message by latest Monday, Feb. 27th. Professor Parr must approve each student’s country selection so that no countries are duplicated – in other words, so that no more than one student researches a particular country. Students are to Canvas message their country choice to Professor Parr for approval as soon as possible, but no later than Monday, Feb. 27th in an effort to have their country choice approved by Professor Parr.
Required: Each student reviews the document provided in our Canvas Selected Resources module entitled “Aspects of the Financial Environment of a Country” to understand important areas of the financial environment that may occur in any country. At least each of these important areas of the financial environment should be covered/addressed in the research paper, but other additional areas of the financial environment may be covered in the paper if students deem these additional areas are relative and important to include.
Required: Each student completes the necessary research. A minimum of 2 sources are required for this paper. The HCC library should have databases and other resources helpful for research purposes, and students can easily enlist a reference librarian’s help in finding resources by clicking on the link to the library(ies) on the HCC website and using the online chat function there to connect with a reference librarian and ask for assistance in finding sources. Once students have their country choice approved by Professor Parr, seeking assistance in finding resources through the HCC library may be quite helpful, save time, and is therefore suggested.
Required: Each student writes his/her paper in APA format.
The paper must include the title page, 2-3 pages of content, and the reference page (so a total of 4-5 pages in all) Do not include an abstract. Three APA- related links appear in the Selected Resources Module. The first, APA: Sample Paper to View/ Download (With Instructive Comments/Guidelines) will be a most helpful reminder of APA guidelines to follow in formatting your paper, so it is suggested to take 10 minutes to click its link, download the PDF, and go through the sample paper. This will be particularly helpful in providing a sample of the way the paper should look, so follow its example on the formatting of your paper (i.e., title page, 1-inch margins, double spaced, title and headings, citations, etc.). Two other links to helpful information appear there as well: APA: General Formatting Information and APA: In-Text Citations Described/Explained. These two are there to provide greater depth of information concerning APA writing guidelines.
A minimum of 2 reputable sources are required for this paper. Wikipedia may not be used. Our textbook may not be used.
Students are required to write this paper in the Calibri font, 11 point (an exception to APA format). No spelling and/or grammar errors allowed.
