Research methods in psychology, topic exposure to Muslims in video priming and political orientation as support for military action in Muslim countries.

We require you to conduct an analysis which investigates the effect of media priming and political opinion in relation to the participants.”support for military action in Muslim countries

You will need to write this report as though you carried the study out yourself;
remember you should write as a formal scientific report with past tense and third
person narrative.
Think about what design the study involves
Use the information provided below to write out your methods section, if unsure or
missing any information based on what has been learnt in lectures and based on
your reading what would you have done to have ensured as strong a study design as
possible?
In relation to the Results Section: If you create graphs such as histograms, plots that
you use to screen the data, then these should be placed in the appendix.
Please ensure that appropriate SPSS/JASP output is submitted in the appendix.
Use peer-reviewed journal articles as a guide whenever writing a lab report.

What do I need to write-up?
A partial report with a word count limit of 1,500 words consisting of Introduction, Methods and Results sections. You also need to include a Reference list and appendix at the end of your report (not part of word count). Approximate word guides for the main sections (see below for expectations of content of each section) of the report are as follows:
Introduction – 600 words
Methods- 450 Words
Results- 450 Words

Remember less is more! Be concise. References do not count towards the word total. The report should be formatted in line with APA 7th edition guidelines.

Introduction
The introduction will consist of three sections. While specific word counts are not given for each subsection, students should follow the exemplars as a guide, and focus on the relevant details pertaining to their project and decide how to utilise their wordcount.
General introduction
In this section, a general overview of the topic(s) being investigated as well as any relevant definitions (e.g., of key psychological concepts), and pertinent social, cultural and/or historical considerations should be presented.
Literature review
In this section, you should detail the current state of the empirical literature in relation to the key variables relevant to your project. You should also aim to detail any relevant theoretical models or frameworks which are pertinent to the project. It would also be advisable to detail how the current literature has developed understanding of the topic.

Present study
In this section you should detail the rationale (i.e., the reason why this study is meaningful and how it fits within the context of the current literature). You should also include the hypotheses for your study here.
Methods
In this section you should include sufficient information that if someone wished to, they could repeat your study without having to seek further information. It should consist of the following sections.

Participants
You will be able to identify the number of participants from the dataset, and you have already been informed of where participants were recruited. Also, consider the type of sampling that would have taken place, and as to how the study would have recruited. Imagine you had carried out the study so what would have been good practice?
Note the total sample where necessary.

Design
You will need to outline the study method used to gather data, and also make clear as to what the study design is, including the variables involved. Remember to conceptualise and operationalise your variables as clearly as possible. What extraneous variables would have been controlled for?

Give a clear indication of the type of design that was used.
Outline all the variables with citations.
How was the study standardised for each participant?
What extraneous variables and factors were controlled for (if any)?

Materials
In this section you should detail the measures which you have used in order to conduct your project. You should include where relevant, the following
The length and structure of the measure. e.g., this is a 6 item questionnaire with 4 response options ranging from agree to disagree
If appropriate detail what populations the measure has been validated in (e.g., non-clinical, clinical sample)
If appropriate, you should include evidence of the reliability and validity of the measures that you have chosen.
Where your materials were sourced.

Procedure
Outline as to how you would have gathered the data using the method you give in the methods, again, consider good practice and considerations.

Ethics
Provide a brief outline of ethical practice to be able to carry out the study, as well as considerations of what ethical aspects needed to be considered and accounted for as part of the study design and procedure.

Results
It is important to provide both descriptive and inferential analysis. You have been taught how to carry out various statistical tests, as well as how to report. Please do so here using established APA reporting guidelines.
