Research Paper on Akwaeke Emezi’s Freshwater with a focus on aesthetic approach, narrative technique, and plot pattern

Below are my research paper instructions. Pretty standard format. I will have the link with the book in question attached to this request.
  • Your research paper will primarily involve analyzing literary texts from our primary readings in Weeks 3 & 4. You may select any topic that is worthy of literary analysis and is directly relevant to the course.
  • The focus of your paper should be such that any class member would be able to recognize its relevance to the text(s) and/or major themes of the course. Imagine the primary audience of your paper as your classmates and try to persuade them to see the text the way you do.
  • The primary reason for the research paper is to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge you have acquired of a specific theme etc. in order to develop a working thesis.  Your paper will be more relevant and convincing if you take a clear position and include relevant and insightful secondary sources to support your assertions. The paper should have a clearly stated thesis, a claim about the text or texts, and be organized to defend it.
  • You are encouraged not to stay on safe ground and simply “repackage” the conventional wisdom about one of our authors or topics.  It will be more rewarding, albeit more challenging, to focus on a theme that has received little attention, is controversial, or lends itself to multiple interpretations.
  • Comparing and contrasting more than one text is mandatory (and may include texts from Weeks 1 & 2, as long as they are not the primary focus of your paper).
  • Options include but are not limited to: The development of a theme, plot pattern, aesthetic approach, character type, narrative technique, symbol, image, or recurring conflict.
  • For secondary sources, you need to include at least four research sources, including background readings inside the class (at least two of which must be “peer reviewed”). These secondary sources could include background research, such as historical, socio-economic information, as well as critical assessments of the works and/or authors that directly inform and elucidate your argument. These sources may include resources and articles already embedded in the course, as well as those you are able to find within the NU Library. Your instructor will assist you if you are having any difficulties in finding such sources.
  • Please follow the MLA format for documentation, mechanics, and references.  Your paper should be approximately 1500-2000 words in length (7-8 pages).
