1. Title / working title of the research
An initial idea of the title should be given – this is likely to be revised as the research progresses and can therefore be a tentative suggestion at the proposal stage. Ideally, this would include a brief main title and a sub-title, and should be less than 15 words in total.
2. Introduction (around 300 words)
The context and background of the research topic / issue, as well as the rationale for undertaking the research. References to key literature can be included to strengthen the case for the project.
3. Research option (100-200 words)
Mention which one of the three research options you wish to do (Dissertation; Portfolio of Writing; Practical Project with Thesis), and why this option is best suited to your topic.

4. Research aims (100-200 words)
A small number of research aims (3-5) should be used to guide your research project. The aims relate to the purpose of conducting the research and what you specifically want to achieve.
5. Literature Review (1500-2000 words)

6. Conclusion (300 words)
Summarise how your proposal addresses the need for research into your chosen topic and whether you foresee any upcoming issues or problems.
