The assignment is to produce a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation to:
i) Summarise the findings from your literature review,
ii) Provide your outline research questions that will guide your research project, and
iii) Explain how you propose to collect data for your research
This presentation represents 50% of the marks for this module.
Points to include
Background information on your topic and why you selected it; how you identified research issues and gaps; what questions you will be trying to address and a proposal for your research e.g. types of lab experiments/quantitative surveys/qualitative investigations/sample populations/content analysis/ethics’ considerations/statistical tests, as appropriate.
Make use of photos and charts to ensure your slides are visually engaging.
Assessment criteria
Structure: Carefully structured with very clear message and focus with some evidence of a plan for the research process. Slides have numbers
Visual aids: Photographs, charts and slide design used imaginatively to support presentation; Key references in Harvard format; no typographical errors
Content: Covers all required areas e.g. brief focused account of topic background; prioritised reasons for focus; research questions/problem statement; approaches to be used; data sources; how data are to be collected; key sources of information; high standard of critical analysis and text originality; no subject-related errors.
