all the literature speaks of diversion for those who are mentally are mentally
ill.  Are there other types of diversion
for criminal defendants?  Review the
literature you have in your reading assignments or other literature you can
review and come to some determination regarding the utility of jail diversion programs
and if any utility extends beyond those persons who have a mental illness or
substance use disorder.
