In a five-paragraph essay, write about how this poem ties into themes of U.S. imperialism, the Monroe Doctrine, and the Roosevelt Corollary. Use evidence from the course to provide evidence both “for” and “against” the United States’ expansionist foreign policy.

The essay must be in a 5 paragraph format, each paragraph including a minimum of 5-8 well-written sentences.
Your essay should include the following:
· Paragraph 1 – Introduction with a clear thesis statement and three talking points that will support the thesis statement. Your thesis should be at the end of your first paragraph outlining the three main points you will be writing about in your body paragraphs.
· Paragraphs 2,3, & 4 = 3 Body Paragraphs – Each body paragraph should provide supporting details, analysis, research, and/or statistics that support or defend your thesis statement. Each paragraph should be detailed and supported by evidence found from the lessons or your own research. Each paragraph should be similar in length, detail, explanation, and analysis.
· Paragraph 5 – Conclusion that sums up your argument and reinforces the thesis statement. This paragraph should be similar in length and detail to your introduction.
