Select a current or trending issue in employment law in one of the following areas: (1)
discrimination; or (2) wage and hour issues.
The paper should center on a current issue arising from shifting culture or social norms, 

changes in administrative or enforcement priorities, or noteworthy legislative or judicial 
trends. Identify the issue and provide a brief background of the developing law relevant to the issue; discuss the current law(s), interpreting rules (if applicable), and case law; 
analyze the issue applying the foundational concepts discussed in this course; and take a position on what solutions or outcomes are possible, and which you support. You must 
include citations (in the form of endnotes)to the sources you use to support your work, 
including the relevant laws, cases, and any third-party resources you referenced.


1. Length: 5-8 pages (excluding endnotes), double-spaced, 12-point Calibri or Times New
Roman font, 1-inch margins on all sides. Number your pages and include your name in the
header section of the first page.
2. The paper will be assessed in the following areas:

a. Relevance of topic and strength of content;
b. Organization and focus;
c. Analytical argument and presentation of ideas, to include clear demonstration of
foundational concepts discussed throughout the course; and
