Each chapter in the course textbook provides examples of each topic from the view of the perspectives. (SEE THE THEORECTICAL PERSPECTIVES sections in the course textbook). 10 points deducted for each perspective that is not included in your paper.
  2. Minimum 3 full pages and maximum 4 full pages. (Do not exceed 4 pages). Your paper must be formatted in APA. Your paper should be organized in paragraphs (Do not include an abstract or literature review.) Headers can also be used in collaboration with paragraphs. Cover and reference pages are not included in the page count. 20 points will be deducted for not properly formatting your paper.
  3. Include 4 academic/scholarly sources (You can use the course textbook and additional course materials, but they do not count towards your required sources.) Your citations should be included in your text and at the end of your paper as a reference page in APA format. You can include more than 4 sources if you desire. 10 points deduction for each source requirement that is not met. Plagiarism will result in a FAIL for the assignment.

The research must fall into one or more of these 4 categories:

  1. Exploratory, which attempts to answer the question “What?” 
  2. Descriptive, which attempts to answer the questions “What?” and “How?”
  3. Explanatory, which attempts to explain social phenomena by answering the questions “What?’ “How?” Why?”
  4. Evaluative, which measures the effectiveness of a program, answering the question: Does it work?”

 

Citation Support: You must include proper in text citations and a reference page at the end of your response. Citations should be in APA format only. Direct quotes can be used but be mindful to not overly use direct quotes. Ask yourself “Can my paper standalone without the direct quotes?”. Consider summarizing and analyzing your sources. If your paper is majority direct quotes, points will be deducted.
