Signature Assignment – Putting It All Together, Connecting MTSS and UDL Reflection Paper

Instructions

For this assignment, you will write a 5-7 page paper that incorporates your understanding of MTSS and all of its service delivery models, including RtI, PBIS, Social Emotional Learning, and Suicide Prevention and Intervention.

Your paper should include and address the following:

  • How effective instructional pedagogy, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), impacts placement within the targeted tiers of intervention.
  • What are the principles of UDL, and how is it connected to data-driven instruction in the diverse classroom?
  • Be sure to discuss the three-tier model and what occurs at each tier for all elements of a successful MTSS.
  • What is your role as the school psychologist within MTSS at all levels?
  • Include a minimum of 5-10 research articles as references.   
Rubric:

1. Exemplary spelling and grammar. 

Precise use of words with meaning clearly expressed. Uses APA format and citations. 


2. Higher-order thinking is clearly evident and presented in a clear, logical flow. 

Insightful interpretation, application, explanation, and/or critique. 

3. The paper moves toward a clear conclusion with a marked sense of logical progression and symmetry.

Transitions are creative and/or original and lead the reader through complex ideas.

4. The writing style is particularly forceful, using unique and precise language. 

The “voice” of the writing is distinct and clever.

5.  Provides ample supporting detail in all areas of MTSS and discusses the principles of UDL.
