Learning Goal: I’m working on a physics multi-part question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.
Hello, so the question goes like this:
A box (M = 1 kg) starts from rest at a height h = 2 m and slides down a very slippery hill, colliding with another piece (m = 1 kg) at rest in a completely elastic manner on the horizontal section after the hill. Exactly beyond the point of impact, the coefficient of friction between the surfaces is 0.25.
The wanted answers:
a) How far do the pieces slide after the point of impact? (Right answers: 0m & 8.00m)
b) Same question but the upper one has a mass of 10kg. (Right answers: 5.37m & 26.45m)
