To prepare for your next multimedia publication in Linkr Education, complete all of the readings in this module and explore the multimedia resources related to deepfakes.

Read Glenn Kessler’s article SEEING ISN’T BELIEVING: The Fact Checker’s guide to manipulated video and analyze the recommendations for detecting deepfakes. Review M. York’s article Using video ethically for ideas about the ethical considerations of video production. In addition, read this essay by Naomi Rea Artists Create a Sinister ‘Deepfake’ of Mark Zuckerberg to Teach Facebook (and the Rest of Us) a Lesson About Digital Propaganda and watch the deepfake video created by the artist Bill Poster who makes a statement about digital propaganda. Review the essay ” THE UPSIDE OF DEEP FAKES” by H. Silbey for specific recommendations about how to respond to the challenges of deepfakes.
Based on your analysis of these issues, write a multimedia publication that addresses the following questions:
What is the most effective way to detect and deal with the challenges of deepfake video?
How would you implement an effective strategy for addressing the downside of deepfake video?
What are the creative and artistic possibilities of deepfake technology for digital artists and designers?
How would you support the artistic potential for deep fake videos?
In addition to the text, create an original digital image or video in any professional form that supports your argument. Review the Digital Tools for Producing and Publishing Visual Information to support the development of your production.
Put it all together in your multimedia publication based on these guidelines:
Written response to the questions (200-word minimum)
Assert a perspective in your own voice and support with research.
Include the use of hypertext links, and other features such as bold, italics, etc. to style your professional posting.
Do not rely too heavily on quotes but if you do quote make sure to cite your sources with quotation marks, in-text citations, and a reference at the end. Use an appropriate citation style (MLA, APA or Chicago) to cite references, websites, or anything you comment on that someone else said.
