Assignment 2: Take the role of a consultant, hired by a large organization. Do some research and find a ‘candidate company’ (for-profit or non-profit) and propose a BRM program for the PMO of this organization – it can be one for which you work (or have worked), or not.

You can (and should) work with the instructor to get feedback on your choice(s) before you settle on one.
AND/OR
Evaluate that organization using the T15 Model and propose transitional changes.
Either way, the majority of your effort should be on the background of the organization for whom you are proposing the transition, and the major changes you plan to introduce.
NOTE: this will form the basis of your Final Report and Presentation. Choose wisely. Make sure that you are interested and that there is enough “depth” in the proposal to follow-through with more details in the Final Report and Presentation.
Details and some advice:
For Assignment 2, your deliverable is to edit the template below (the structure, not all of the content) to fit the transition that you are leading as a consultant. You should also have a minimum of 33% (a third) of the overall text that you anticipate using in the document for your final report. In other words, Assignment 2 is a way to get a ‘33% done’ version of your Final Report. If you find another template or want to create your own document, feel free, however it must, at a minimum, include:
  • INTRODUCTION
  • Executive Summary
  • VISION
  • Current “As Is” State
  • Future “To Be” State
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
    • Use the built-in chart, or, even better, substitute one of these or your own hybrid:
      •  Stakeholder Analysis Spreadsheet-r2.xlsx
  •  Stakeholder Identification Analysis and Engagement Planning Templates-Wu.xlsx
  • ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE TEAM
  • SCOPE
  • Phase Activities
  • METRICS COLLECTION AND ACTION PLANS
    • include how benefits will be measured
    • describe the value of this transition
  • BUDGET CONSIDERATIONS
  • POST IMPLEMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS
  • APPENDICES (as you see fit)
In other words, this Assignment is a chance for you to deliver a ‘minimum viable product’ (MVP) to the teaching team for analysis. You are graded on the deliverable but it is also a chance to get directional correction for the final report.

Just to allow you to “begin with the end in mind” but NOT to provide a source of ‘copying’, here is a completed FINAL Assignment (remember, Assignment 2, is to get about 33% of the way towards this FINAL Assignment).

This provides ONE WAY to satisfy the requirements of Assignment 2 (and the FINAL Assignment). There are many ways to do it, the key is that you are demonstrating interest in, research of, and focus on the industry and specific organization you have chosen, and that you are describing the why, how, what, when, who, and where of the transition you want to drive for that organization.
