Module 4 Discussion: What Do You Think?

It’s our fourth Discussion Board (DB) assignment for the semester! Yahoo!
In the Modules, we have been looking at topics that are closely related to students, namely, College Value, Student Loan Debt, and Student Athlete Compensation: further, these topics have infused our Responses, Journals, and Discussions, not to mention our first Essay, which is due this Saturday. Beginning next week, we will move away from these topics and begin our new “unit,” which will then become subjects for the next several weeks. You may recall that I mentioned “scaffolding” earlier in the semester, which means that by writing from multiple viewpoints on the same topics, we “build” our writing and understanding of the topics.
For this assignment, we are going to look at the last topic for Essay 1 and this week’s Response: Student Athlete Compensation.

- The author’s full name and “Essay Title” in your first sentence.
- React to the essay:

- Write a thesis statement that agrees or disagrees with the idea;
- Write 2-3 topic sentences that support the thesis statement;
- Writer a sentence that expresses the other side (the opposition);
- Incorporate 1 quote from the text and give a reaction to/comment on the quote; do not simply summarize the quote.
