- Articles sources must be empirical and peer reviewed psychology journals or book chapters
- up to 2 chapters can be used, the rest must be articles
- Typed in microsoft word only
- must be voiced in professional tone
- first 1-3 paragraphs should introduce topic, explain to reader why they should want to read the paper
- also briefly explain what you are going to be talking about in the paper
- body paragraphs: Organize summaries to provide a good review of what the literature you have read says about your topic
- for one of the pages 1 page can be about the girl finishing high school after pregnancy
- and then the other page can be about socioeconomic status
- and then another page can be about the family involvement
- last 1-2 paragraphs should wrap up, what are the potential avenues for other research, what is the take home message of the literature review?
- write out research questions if any come up
- writing up the method section of the proposed study: potential particpants, the measures or equipment you propose to use, procedures for collecting your data
- Remember that you are not required to collect data or conduct a study, only think about and propose what you would do if you were going to conduct research on this topic
- references section: use proper APA style and make sure they are cited
- 12 pt font, no more than 8 pages, double spaced, one inch margins
- final paper must include:
- a. Title Page (APA Style with the running header verbiage)
b. Abstract
c. Lit Review
d. Aims of the Study
e. Method Section
f. Reference Page
