Topic selection: You can select any topic that has a legal and business aspect. Your topic should lend itself to a thesis that allows you to argue for a position or advise the industry/corporation on how best to navigate the issue.
Places to find topics (if you need inspiration or help): Large law firms have update pages and current issues pages on their websites. Major consulting firms and auditing firm (PWC, Deliotte) publish annual reports on key issues in the corporate world. You can also look at blogs that focus on corporate issues such as the FCPA blog. Various enforcement agencies, such as the SEC, also issue business advisory notices and guidance. There are many other places you can look, but these are a few you might consider if you are having trouble deciding on a topic.
Something to avoid: The paper should go beyond simply providing background on a particular legal topic. It should go beyond summarizing the current state of the issue or the law as it relates to the issue. You must add value. Providing background information or summaries is not adding value. Your thesis and supporting analysis that provides your original insights, arguments, and/or guidance is where you add value.

A good topic would be:
