The bill of rights is one of the most important events in history because it guarantees civil rights and liberties to us individuals, like freedom of speech, press, and religion. But focus more on the affects of the world and not just the US.

The history we have discussed this semester is usually shaped by large scale trends and forces. However, you are to select one major event in World History that occurred between 1492 and 1815, and argue the following:

What was this event? When, where, among who, and how did it occur?
What were the major consequences of this event in the following history of the civilization in which it occurred?
Why is this one of the most important events in world history?
Note that you do not necessarily need to answer these questions in this order.
