The assigbnment is to review peer reviewed research articles on a specific topic. Review them for the quality of information they have. Reviews are written for a specialist/expert audience to inform and persuade them about the current research on a significant topic in health by describing and identifying what is known and unknown and proposing suggestions for future research.
Include suggestions for future research in conclusion. Please include an abstract page and an introduction before the first subtopic/subtitle.
The following checklist should be used to guide you through peer review; and the drafting, revising, and editing stages of the assignment:
Is your review formatted following APA style (double-spaced text, one-inch margins, Times New Roman 12-point font, and level one [and two if necessary] section headings)?
Is your review at least 10-pages long (including a cover page, an ABSTRACT page, review pages, and a references page)?
Is your review based on at least 10 peer-reviewed sources of current research about your topic?
Does your review adapt to the capabilities, values, needs, and expectations of a specialist/expert audience (health professionals)?
Does your review follow genre conventions for writing style in tone (professional, objective, measured, and precise) and point of view (third person)?
Does your review include a title page that lists a title (equivalent to your topic), your name, your school, and the date of submission?
Does your review include an abstract page that provides an informative summary overview (in a single, left-aligned, substantive paragraph without in-text citations) of the sections (introduction, body, and conclusion) of the review?
Does your review include an introduction that establishes the topic of the review, explains the significance of that topic for health professionals, and briefly identifies the main themes/subtopics of the review in a concluding transition paragraph?
Does your review include a body that is divided into sections (level one [and two if necessary]) and logically organized (following the rules of parallelism, coordination, subordination, and division) by themes/subtopics and does it describe (by summarizing and paraphrasing, and only quoting minimally when necessary) what is known (both generally and specifically) from the current research (highlighting trends and patterns and similarities and differences)?
Does your review include a conclusion that, after providing a transition paragraph that briefly summarizes what is known, identifies what remains unknown/under-researched/unresolved about the topic, and proposes specific suggestions for future research?
Does your review include in-text citations (both direct and indirect) throughout and a corresponding list of references adhering to a formal style (e.g., APA)
