In this 5-6 page double-spaced research paper, you will write a biography on a woman that you believe has been overlooked in US History. You must confirm your choice with me before you begin. Within your biography you must explain why you believe this woman has been overlooked, how this woman relates to the historical trends we have seen in this class, and how she either challenged or confirmed the gender norms of her period.

To earn a high grade you need to make a well-argued thesis with convincing pieces of evidence to back up your claim. For example, you might make the argument that the experience of the war turned Kate Stone into a more independent woman, making her less reliant on men than a woman of her social class would normally have been.
