NOT Including title page, abstract, and reference pages, your paper should be between 6 (no less) to 10 (no more) pages .(2) Source Materials: Since the objective of this assignment is about the dissemination of information to fellow professionals, for the most part, you should be relying on professional sources. You MUST cite at least five written professional sources (articles in journals or chapter in professional texts). Introductory textbooks, websites, magazine articles, or general texts will NOT be counted as peer-reviewed sources. Not only will your text not count as a peer source but should avoid using your text altogether.To assist in your search of sources, I urge you to use the Psychinfo database. I will provide a video identifying how to access the Pace Library Database which will be found in Classes. Also, in order to receive texts and journals not available in the library, you should set up an Illiad account. If you don’t have an account, either go to Pace library website and follow the directions or consult with an actual librarian.Please note that you are NOT to use our textbook as a primary reference source. You are allowed to use internet sites upon my approval—though such sites will NOT count as one of your primary sources.(3) Quoting: You are to avoid excessive quoting. The point of this paper is not for you to copy what others have written. Rather, your job is to describe and paraphrase. To make sure that you avoid excessive quoting, I am restricting you to no more than three quotes for the entire paper. Also, no quote should run longer than four sentences. In the event that you quote more than three times, you will automatically lose points.Please note that referencing is not the same thing as quoting. With few exceptions, every paragraph of your paper should include a reference.APA STYLE:Learning to write in the correct APA format is essential, since this style used in most all professional psychology and counseling journals. Failure to write in this format will result in you losing substantial points. I can not stress enough how important it is to follow APA guidelines.
