The purpose of this discussion post is to gain insight into Nazism’s racial ideology and how racialization and racism affect ideas surrounding citizenship in the modern world.
Post: After reading 1) the political program of the Nazi Party (i.e. “25 Points of the Nazi Party”); 2) chapter XI, “Nation and Race,” in Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf; and 3) the entries Eugenics and Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race (all the seven sections) in the Holocaust Encyclopedia, write a 500-word post:
- A) discussing the concept of citizenship as proposed in articles 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the political program of the Nazi Party;
- B) summarizing Adolf Hitler’s political and ideological theses and goals as expressed in chapter XI, “Nation and Race,” of Mein Kampf;
- C) exploring the concepts of Nazi eugenics and euthanasia program; and finally,
- D) drawing from points A, B, and C, reflect on the connections of citizenship and race in the modern political discourse and/or public opinion.
