The research question is: Does immigration in the U.S. have a positive or negative impact on Economic growth?
Instructions: The next step is to look for high-quality, quantitative research on the issue in question. This will mainly be published academic work, although analyses from rigorous think tanks like the Brookings Institution or the Urban Institute are acceptable as well. In general, I don’t want you to cite popular news accounts that do not involve rigorous arguments or data analysis. There is no given number of sources or citations. For any focused topic, you will generally discover that there are a handful of articles that are high-quality, data-driven, and relevant to your particular question. If there is a debate, you will want to mention/assess articles on both sides of the debate (the debate may have more than two sides!). After you present the articles and their arguments, you should give your assessment based on your reading of the evidence. This latter part is important because it shows me that you are not just reporting the state of the debate (which is important!), but you are also analyzing and assessing the issues yourself.
In terms of length, I’m looking for 8-10 pages double spaced. You should cite your sources, but I don’t care which citation format you use (as long as it points to the original source).
Due date: April 30, 2023, but I would like a draft by April 16th with some of the sources that will be used for the paper.
