Assignment Requirements:
-
Topic Selection:
- I chose the topic of immigration because it is still controversial. The government and
- the United States citizens are divided on whether immigrants strengthen or harm the
- nation. Immigrants built this nation, so it shouldn’t be looked down on or
- villainized. Recently, republicans have done whatever is necessary to stop immigrants
- from entering the United States, and many have used that as their campaign slogan to
- gain Americans’s votes
-

- Ensure you understand the topic thoroughly. You should have enough data and background information to provide a comprehensive viewpoint.
- Cite reputable sources if you include specific statistics or facts.
-
Content:
- Introduction: Clearly state the issue and why it’s relevant to the intended audience.
- Capture the reader’s attention.
- Body: Present your perspective, backed by reasons and evidence. Address counterarguments where appropriate. Your voice and viewpoint should be clear.

-

- Your op-ed should be persuasive and aim to provoke thought or action.
- Use concise and clear language. Avoid jargon unless you’re writing for a specialized audience.
