The topic for the second essay is: “The use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT in academic settings is a form of cheating”.

In your essay you should explain what you think the statement means and give some arguments either for or against the statement (or both).

The word limit is between 400 and 600 words. You will lose marks if your essay is outside this range. This limit does not include your references. It also does not include your paragraph explaining your use of ChatGPT (or similar) if you did so, see below. 

You should reference at least two sources which are mentioned in your essay using the referencing format described in class and in the handout . 

Claims you make in your essay which need supporting evidence should have a reference associated with them in the text. You can lose ½ a mark for unsupported claims.
