The foster care system is a vital service that provides a temporary home for children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. It’s a system that is meant to offer a safe and supportive environment to children while their biological families work through their problems. However, these guardians that are supposed to be making the ¨safe and supportive environment¨ are instead taking advantage of these poor, innocent children. It is shown that foster care parents seem to be abusing or neglecting the children in their care, found to only being a guardian for the financial benefits, and not showing up to be seen as a good role model which affects their adulthood by going down a bad path, has led to a growing concern about the safety of children in the foster care system. In order to address these concerns, it’s exceedingly necessary to implement stricter rules for accepting foster parents. The current guidelines for accepting foster parents do not always catch issues that make them unsuitable to be foster parents. Therefore, the guidelines on accepting foster parents has to require stricter rules since the foster care system is still amoral.
