Research Assignment Overview:
Each student will choose a political science essay topic subject to substantial debate. Following the standard research
essay format, students will write a 4–5-page paper arguing their positions on their topic. ( The United States should drop criminal convictions and stop future incarceration for drug use.) (This is basically the side you are arguing you can word it differently if needed.)
Students will
use no less than five sources which must be used in text and properly cited. Sources must be from
reputable academic publications or media institutions (i.e., do not cite Facebook or other such
unreliable publications). Papers are expected to be succinct, free from major grammatical and syntax
errors, and follow sound logical argumentation. Papers found to be or contain plagiarized material will
receive a grade of zero for the assignment.
Requirements:
1. 4-5 pages 1,000-1,250 words
2. Minimum 1,000 words.
3. Minimum of 5 academic sources
4. Double spaced 12-point times new roman font.
5. Any form of citation you are familiar with (i.e., Chicago style, MLA, etc.).
6. All papers must include a works cited page (not to be counted as one of the 4 or 5 pages).
