This assignment asks you to consider a management style (or styles) you’ve either witnessed or know occur throughout different organizations. You will draw on concepts from the course to explain exactly whether the management leadership style is effective or ineffective and explain why. The paper should be 1000 words in length (all inclusive).
Management Paper
Your paper can focus on either an effective or ineffective management style, focusing on the various aspects outlined within the text. The paper should include the following three sections:
1. Background – Describe the type of business and the type of leader. Give enough detail that it’s clear why you feel the way you do about this person, with enough richness that the section “brings the person to life” for the reader. Feel free to omit or disguise any details that might be sensitive in nature.
2. Explanations – Drawing on key terms throughout the readings to explain why, in your estimation, the leader is either effective or ineffective. Be sure to go beyond surface level chapter titles and give some examples.
3. Conclusions – Flowing out of the key terms discussed in the previous section, describe how the environment and culture of the organization operates as a result of the management and leadership style. If effective, elaborate on what specifics make a difference for the team. If ineffective, what options or changes would you recommend?
Beyond the parameters above, please bring your own self-expression, initiative, and creativity to the content and style of the paper. 80% of the paper grade will revolve around content, with 20% revolving around writing style.
