Universal Design of Learning Adaptation Plan

Module 03 Content

1. Background

   We understand that not all activities and/or lesson plans are Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) for all children. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an excellent tool to help make lesson DAP. You will have the opportunity to look through the lens of UDL for this assessment.

   Directions

   1. Videos: Watch the following three videos located here.
   2. Video 1 – Infant Video: Ball and Jug (3 minutes, 41 seconds)
   3. Video 2 – Toddler Video: Sand container Conflict (2 minutes, 28 seconds)
   4. Video 3 – Preschool Video: Sick Baby (5 minutes, 35 seconds)
   5. Reflect:
   6. As you watch the videos a second time, look at them through the lens of UDL.
   7. Then, for each of the videos write a reflection about how you would create adaptations in the form of content, process, product, and environment to make sure each of the activities are DAP for all children.
   8. Also, for each of the videos, explain why you selected each adaptation and how the adaptation will create DAP activities for all children.
   9. Your reflection should be a total of 2-3 pages in length and address all three videos.
   10. Include a formatted APA title page. Also include citations to all sources used for this assignment and reference page in APA format, if needed.
   11. All work should be formatted professionally and use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

   Submission Requirement

   Submit your completed assignment by following the directions linked below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.
   
   Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:Jstudent_exampleproblem_101504
