(Consider these perspectives: descendants of the misrepresented culture, people currently within the misrepresented culture, people outside that culture)
Heading with your name, the date, the course number, professor, title of the assignment
Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double-spaced
Chicago Manual of Style formatting preferred, though you may use another style (MLA, APA) as long as you do so consistently.
350 words (excluding the heading)
Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx files only)
Turned in via elearn (mandatory, no paper copies)
Formal writing: no first person (“I, me, my” is not allowed), no contractions, minimize figures of speech.
Advice: Fight to make this as good as possible. Have a friend or a tutor read your piece before you turn it in. Read it out loud to yourself. The essay must be thesis-driven. Every assertion must be supported with evidence.
This must be in your own words, of course. It is the end of the semester so any evidence of plagiarism will get you a 0 and you will likely fail the class. There is no time to make it up.
