Topic for assignment: Choose a health topic for which you can provide a feasible action item to your audience (i.e., members from general public). Duration of video: 1-2 mins
Content: Video should present information that would motivate the target audience to engage in a desired behavior. Format: Students can choose a format they prefer. Whatever you choose, it should be in a video format with an audio (your voice or background music). Here are some examples: o Role Play or Video presentation by student(s) o Voice narrated slide show o Slide show with background

Message should be clear and adequate for your communication purpose (10 points) § Information provided should be accurate backed by credible sources (10 points) § Recommendation provided should be evidence based (10 points) § Persuasive – video should persuade individuals to engage in the desired behavior by providing attention seeking facts, emotional appeal, or by presenting a concept in a creative manner (10 points) Presentation: § Meeting the time limit (10 points) § Tailored for the target audience: relevant and acceptable to target audience; not stigmatizing or offending anyone (10 points) § Technical and Professional Skills: Video plays without any glitches, good quality sound, well organized, visually pleasing, free of spelling/grammatical issues, professional language; Video should not appear like a lecture/scientific presentation (you are communicating with general public) (10 points) § Reference list provided including all sources of all images and sounds used. Programs and apps used to develop the video are listed. This list should not be in the video, but in a separate document uploaded on Blackboard (5 points) Points will be deducted if: § Assignment is not submitted on time, unless prior approval from the instructor § Copyrighted material or an image used where the person can be identified § Used a template, software or program which has copyrights or not available to use for free. § Used someone else’s voice or have someone else act in the video.
