You’ll prepare a substantive, research-based presentation on a topic of your choice. It is fine if your presentation is geared to an audience of people who are not researchers (e.g., parents or community members), but it should be grounded in research you have read on the topic, and should offer a definite point of view (recommendations, conclusions, or suggestions) as well as discussing relevant research.
The slide show should have graphic and text elements. References to research articles or other sources should either be incorporated into the presentation slides, listed on a slide at the end, or incorporated into the Notes area within PowerPoint. For the rough draft, you can turn in the slide deck with no narration or video. For the final draft, you will record your narration with audio or video. The finished, narrated slide show should be between 8 and 15 minutes in length.
