You will need to develop a thesis or question. Your introduction should not only introduce your essay, but it should highlight the main points you will be covering in the paper. The body of your essay will include the evidence you are presenting to answer your question or in support of your thesis. Your conclusion will not only end the essay, but it should summarize the main points you made in the essay.
In addition the essay must include the following things:
1. The essay must also contain one properly used and cited quotation. This quotation must be properly inserted into the text of the essay and cited with a footnote in correct Chicago style. See the resources provided in the Tests and Assignments section on how to do this. You can also look at the sample essay.
2. The essay must also include at least four (4) footnotes, used to show the source of your information. These must be properly formatted using Chicago style. See the resources provided in the Tests and Assignments section on how to do this. You can also look at the sample essay.
3. You must use a minimum of 4 scholarly journal articles (online journals acceptable) and 4 books (ebooks acceptable). Your textbooks and lecture notes cannot be used. Other reading assigned can be used,

Typewritten in 11 pt Arial font;
Double-spaced;
Paginated;
Use 1” margins on all sides;
Include a title page;
Be provided with footnotes and bibliography composed in Chicago style. A good place to find Chicago style is the most recent edition of Kate L. Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations (if you do not have a copy buy one at the bookstore).
