Write 4-5 pages (1-inch margins, Times New Roman, 12pt font, double spaced) on this week’s films and readings of your choice. Please incorporate Cameraperson and at least one other film supported by at least three readings. You may mix and match (i.e., you do not have to use the readings originally assigned with the film). The goal is to synthesize what you have learned this week. Use your creativity and detailed film observations to reflect on the weekly materials. Your argument must be supported by a thesis statement, which must be backed up by specific evidence from the films and readings. Briefly introduce the films and readings with a few sentences of summary. State the arguments of each before beginning your analysis. What do these readings illuminate about these films?
You will be graded on demonstrated comprehension of films and readings (5), development of argument (5), relevance and incorporation of selected references to argument (5), compliance with formatting and assignment requirements (5) for 20 points total.
If using quotations, use citations. Ex.: The difference “between analyzing something that is a performance versus analyzing something as a performance” (Griffith and Marion 2020: 384). As you will only be using course materials for this paper, there is no bibliography required.
